After The Quilt Box, we went on to Cincinnati, and straight to the Art Museum.
They were having a quilt exhibit which I wasn’t able to take any photos of. It was a decent exhibit, but having been to the actual Quilt Museum, I wasn’t too impressed. After that it was on to Krohn Conservatory.
There were some very pretty plants there, but it was blisteringly hot and muggy so we didn’t stay too long. They had this nice waterfall…
…This chenille plant, which I think actually Lisa had a picture of recently on her blog, but it’s so pretty up close…
…this pretty plant that I forgot the name of, but liked the colors…
…this one they called the Fuzzy Lobster Claw…
…and this neat curly leafed plant, which I also don’t remember the name of. The heat must have gotten to my memory…
After the Conservatory, it was straight to Great American Ballpark for a night game of the Cincinnati Reds vs the Atlanta Braves.
This was the first of 2 Reds games we went to, and we sat in the left field seats. One of my favorite things about ballgames is….ballpark food!
These are Skyline chili cheese dogs my husband is about to devour, and the best thing ever. If you ever see one, eat there. It’s yummy. And somehow being at the ballpark made it even yummier.
And after the ballgame, there was a fireworks show. We saw it on the way to our car, and it was beautiful. This was all on Day 1, after driving that morning to get there. We would have enjoyed an exhausted night of sleep except we had a really crummy hotel. So we actually got a very painful night of on and off sleep. But still a great Day 1 none the less.
