By this time my legs were aching, and it was hard to face another day full of walking. But then I remembered I was on vacation, and it became really easy. We started this day at the Newport Aquarium. I don’t have a lot of pictures of this because it’s so hard to take shots through glass, but a few came out…
This next one is a purple lobster…
Look closely at this one. This is a turtle, and his shell is covered with moss so he’ll blend in. In the bottom left is his face. He’s got a little pig nose sticking out. And his mouth looks like he’s smiling. Can you see it?
They had a neat jellyfish room that was all dark, and the tanks were lit up from behind. It made them very eerie.
Although this isn’t a very good quality picture, I love what it shows. They had lots of tunnel tanks you could walk through, where the animals swam over the top of you. This is my husband underneath a huge stingray.
After the aquarium, we drove back by St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption.
This time it was open, and we got to go in. Pictures could never do it justice, but here’s just a peek. If you’re interested in some better pictures, you can go to the Cathedral’s website here.
It was really breathtaking in person.
This was just the first half of day 4, but I feel like this was a really long post, so I think I’ll continue it next time.
