My parents have this new plant growing in the brush in their backyard. Wikipedia tells me it’s a Passion Flower.
Not sure how it ended up in the brush back there, but I’m glad it did. It gives me something pretty to play around some more with the new camera and photo-editing.
But it looks like it belongs somewhere exotic like an Asian rain forest, not in the woods of Memphis. Yes, Memphis has some woods. And now we have Passion Flowers too.

Yours are very beautiful!!
I have never seen anything like that, it is not only amazing, but beautiful as well!
it’s “la pasionaria” or “mburucuyá” [passion flowers us you write] it’s the Paraguay national flower.
the name is because the center recalls the crown of thorns of Christ.
It is a beautiful flower.
greetings!
That is just too cool………… it looks like something in the ocean.
Thanks for sharing.
Great photography of your beautiful Passion Flower. I think you’ll fall in love with it. It is a plant that attracts butterflies, which do create caterpillers (so avoid chemical sprays). It is really fun to see how many more butterflies you can attract to your yard with this plant. May take a season or two, but they will come.
Enjoy!
