I Didn’t Know Any Better

I’m so excited!  I’ve just signed up for a photography class this fall.  It’s just a little ‘continuting education’ class that will meet 4 evenings in October, but I can’t wait.  I really enjoy taking pictures, but I don’t have any idea what I’m doing.  If a picture turns out well, it’s luck.  So I hope [...]

Needing to make a grocery list
Missing the wide open spaces of west Texas
Worried about the future of our country
Feeling lazy
Trying to get the Neptune top done
Wishing I knew more about photography
Excited about a little overnight trip next week

A Scrap-Saving Tip

Karen, over at Sew Many Ways, blogged about this tip a while back, and with all the flying geese I had to make for this Neptune quilt, I figured I’d try it out.

After stitching the seam down the middle for the block I needed, I also stitched another line, 1/2 inch towards the outside, the [...]

Ah-HA!

(Be warned, this post has about a kajillion pictures)
So can I just tell you that waiting for a caterpillar to chrysalize is kind of like watching paint dry.  Paint that you expect at any moment could perform a miracle of nature, so you have to keep checking on it, and every time you do, it’s [...]
