I’ve been admiring Tula Pink’s Neptune line for awhile, but had never purchased any.  I recently saw a really pretty Neptune pattern in August’s American Patchwork and Quilting, and decided it’d make a great Christmas present for a certain somebody.  Apparantly a lot of people thought the same thing because all of a sudden, it’s a bit harder to get ahold [...]

I’m gettin’ there on the Civil War blocks.

I’ve got all the squares cut, and 62 of the 9 patch done, just 58 left to go.  For the first 20-something 9 patch I made, I was just using scraps I already had around, so there was a lot of cutting little squares.  But once I received [...]

I got these 2 prints the same time I got all the other fabric I ordered, but I thought they were so cute they deserved their own posting.

I didn’t know I loved Michael Miller so much until recently.  But I do really love him.

Okay folks, rarely, if ever, do I post twice in one day.  But I am hot about something right now, so I felt the need.  Whenever I have a great experience with a crafty/fabric store, I have no problem posting about it and hopefully sending a little business their way.  So I feel it’s fair that it [...]

Shopping

So, I’ve had to do a lot of fabric shopping lately.  With the 3 swaps I’m in, it was inevitable.  It was fun, but I’m having to work the overtime to make up for it.  I showed you all the Halloween fabric I bought for the Spooktacular Swap.  I also had to buy a bunch [...]

I know it’s only June, but I’m already working on Halloween.  Ever since I joined Jane’s Spooktacular Halloween Swap, I’ve been all about ghosts, goblins, and 9 patch squares.  Of course I had to do some halloween fabric shopping, and this is what I came up with.

With the exception of the left fabric of the middle picture, [...]

GFG

This is the stack of 30’s repro I’m *slowly* working through for my hexagons.  I’ve cut 3 of them so far.  3 of the pink ones.  And I’ve made about 75 hex’s so far.  75 sounds like a lot to me, but I figured up that I need about 3400, so it doesn’t sound like [...]

Don’t forget about the giveaway.  This is post 186 so you still have time to enter.
If you still haven’t read about the swap idea, leave your two cents.  We’re getting some really good interest, and you don’t want to be left out.

Got some new fabric in the mail today.  I had been admiring [...]

Thoughtfulness

I recently was fortunate enough to ‘meet’ Cathy No Blog through email.  She was needing some encouragement on a Safari quilt she needed to start, and I was needing encouragement on my hexagon quilt.  Anyway, we’ve been chatting back and forth about crafting, our projects, and life in general.
A week or so ago while she was out shopping, she found [...]

ah-HA.  I finally did it.  I sat down and made my first hexagon.

And you know what?  It really wasn’t that scary.  So not scary, in fact, that I made a few more.  And then even joined them together.

These are just for practice.  I made them a few different ways.  A few I made with freezer paper [...]
