I’m thinking that in January I’d like to start a block of the month quilt, where each block represents a different month. Kind of like that 3D Sunbonnet Sue quilt I showed a couple posts back from the quilt show. Does anyone know of any quilt patterns like that?
Yesterday I decided to finally bite the [...]

New Year House Swap
Posted in swap on November 5, 2009 | 17 Comments »
I have gotten the biggest kick out of seeing some of the house blocks that the ladies in my ‘Around the World’ quilting bee are making. They’re fantastic! So creative and so much detail. Here’s some examples…
This one is by Tanya.
This one was done by Flossyblossy.
This is Katy’s.
This one and the next one are by Anita.
So [...]
The Sun Is Finally Back…

…After about 3 weeks of overcasty rain. And because it’s finally beautiful outside, I was able to finally get a picture of the Halloween quilt from Jane’s swap. Still not sure how I’ll quilt it, but here’s how the top turned out. I LOVE it! Thanks to Jane for organizing the swap!
I did quite a few [...]

I’ve got the red and aqua blocks done for Jane’s swap. If you haven’t signed up yet, I think she still may be taking some people, so check it out. It was super easy and quick, and it’ll be a really cute quilt when it’s all done.
With some leftovers, I decided to make some tiny [...]
Another Swap

Well, I caved and joined another swap today. But who can say no to a Jane swap? Won’t you join me? Red and aqua…can’t get much more fun than that! While shopping for fabric today, I found there was a fine line between aqua/blue/teal, etc. But I think it’s just going to be gorgeous when it’s [...]
On To Christmas

There will be no more ghosts haunting my house. It seems odd that it’s only July, and I’m moving on from Halloween to start on Christmas. I finished all my blocks for Jane’s Spooktacular Hallween Swap, and not a moment too soon. While finishing up the one project, about 6 more somehow got added to my [...]
More Ghosty Blocks

I’m having so much fun making these ghost blocks for Jane’s Spooktacular Halloween Swap. I didn’t know applique would be so fun.
This one I call: Haunted Log Cabin
And here’s Herbert in a gravesite scene…
I can’t decide which mouth I like better. Smiling or spooky? Thanks Jane for putting on this swap, I’m having so much [...]
Ghost Story

Intimidation has kept me from starting on my focus blocks (ghost themed) for Jane’s Spooktacular Halloween Swap. I figured it would include some kind of applique, which is neither my strong point, or something I enjoy that much (probably because it’s not a strong point). So after putting it off, and putting it off, and [...]

I’m gettin’ there on the Civil War blocks.
I’ve got all the squares cut, and 62 of the 9 patch done, just 58 left to go. For the first 20-something 9 patch I made, I was just using scraps I already had around, so there was a lot of cutting little squares. But once I received [...]
Halloween’s Come Early

I know it’s only June, but I’m already working on Halloween. Ever since I joined Jane’s Spooktacular Halloween Swap, I’ve been all about ghosts, goblins, and 9 patch squares. Of course I had to do some halloween fabric shopping, and this is what I came up with.
With the exception of the left fabric of the middle picture, [...]
