Day 2 has nothing crafty about it, so I apologize in advance. Day 2 was all about baseball. We were supposed to get up early and go to Finley Market, which is apparently this great farmers market/flea market/really great thing to see, but I just couldn’t get out of bed, as uncomfortable as it was. So when I did finally emerge, we hit the Reds Hall of Fame, and then our second game, this time an afternoon game. I had prayed for good weather, which we were blessed with, but it was also oh-so-hot. Thankfully our seats were only in the sun for the first half of the game. And as you can see from these shots taken from our seats, they were much better than the previous outfield seats.
This is a picture of Jay Bruce, actually it’s a picture of the backside of him, but it was the best I could do. If you follow baseball, you may have heard of him. He’s a phenom who just came out of the AAA team a week or two ago, and is amazing all the professionals. He’s only 21. That makes me feel old. Moving on…this is a picture of Ken Griffey, Jr hitting his 599th home run (he’s in a race to 600). Sorry it’s a little blurry but the stadium kind of erupted in chaos when he hit it.
And last but not least, here’s a peek inside the dugout…
Because I’m more of a casual fan, although I’m getting more and more into it, I found it much easier to pay attention when we were in the close seats. But both games were really fun. There’s an electricity and camaraderie in a ballpark I haven’t experienced anywhere else. It’s a great time. And then after our crazy day 1, and being in the sun all day Day 2, we went back to the hotel and crashed.
