Yesterday morning when I got home from work, about 8 AM-ish, Spike had turned darker. He was getting some blackish spots. Apparantly about 7:59ish, my camera batteries decided to die. So I didn’t get to take any pictures until yesterday evening. He looks the same this morning, and I tried some more shots. But it’s so frustrating because i can’t get any good pictures!!! ARRGGGGH! I probably looked really funny carting a coke bottle with a chrysalis in it to every light source in our apartment, then outside in the sun, then outside in the shade. Turning it every which way trying to avoid the glare. Tilting it up, then down. This is the best I got. Sorry, I know it’s awful. If you have ANY suggestions, please let me know.
Yes, you can see my camera in the reflection. And yes, the leaf is in focus but not him. I don’t know what else to do, but I promise I’ll keep trying. I thought about taking the coke bottle off the pot for a picture, but the bottle looks like it’s holding up the vine, and if the whole thing came crashing down, forget it. I’d be a butterfly murderer, and I don’t think I can live with that. Besides, I would have killed my birthday present. But if you compare this blurry picture to the previous blurry pictures, you can tell he’s getting darker. That’s supposed to be a sign that he’s getting closer.
Speaking of beautiful butterfly photography, check out this blog.
If I get anything better, I’ll post it. If you don’t see any more shots, just picture me walking my bottle around the neighborhood trying my hardest.
