It was seeming that just as my to-do list was at it’s longest, my desire to do any of it was at it’s lowest. A few weeks ago I just didn’t feel like doing anything crafty, or anything productive, for that matter. But I’m out of my funk, and the last couple of weeks have been super productive.
I’ve got all of my Christmas cards addressed, and the stamps bought…
I’m wanting to get a nice photo of my husband and I to enclose in the cards to those family members and friends we don’t get to see very often, but that’s proving to be a tough job. I hate all the pictures I’m in, so it’s going to be hard to get one I like. But I’m working on it. So I should have plenty of time to get them all personalized with a nice message, get my wreaths finished, and get them in the mail on the 1st of December. This will be a huge step up for me, as I usually buy cards and never get them sent out. Or I just mailed one out to whoever I received one from. Yes, we’ve been ‘that couple’, but no more.
Also, I’ve gotten to work on my Chubby Chicks quilt. It’s an adorable pattern by BlackMountain quilts. I said it was going to take me a long time to do another applique quilt, but I fell in love with this pattern, so i’m going to go at it again. My last attempt wasn’t so much a failure, as just an incredibly frustrating experience. If any of you have a fusible web that you like, PLEASE let me know. I have had bad experiences with most of them that I’ve tried.
I also finished my swap ornament. I can’t show you a picture yet, but I’m pretty pleased with how it came out. I was really a little stressed about this, because it is my first swap. I’ve seen pictures of items made for other swaps, and they’re so gorgeous! I just don’t want my partner to be disappointed. It’s been fun, and I’d like to do other swaps, and I don’t want to be that girl that no one wants to be partners with. You know, like in grade school, when there’s that one girl that nobody picks for the team…Yeah, I don’t want to be that girl.
I also got some more squares done for my polka dot stars quilt…
So I’m still chuggin along. I’d like to start the new year with a fresh empty to-do list, so I can dream about all new projects that catch my eye.
