So back at the beginning of the month, my husband went out of town for a week. It was the longest we’d been apart, and I missed him terribly. When we finally got home, he was wearing a new t-shirt he had bought while out-of-town…
Awww….sweet, right? I loved it. It’s now my new favorite t-shirt of his.
Then, last week, he brings this home…
Are you kidding???? What are we supposed to do with that?! Here’s a glimpse of our conversation..
Me: “What is that?” (Knowing full well what it was)
Him: “Isn’t it awesome?’ (Knowing full well I didn’t think so)
Me: “How much did you pay for that?”
Him: “$1…it was on clearance”
Me: “You overpaid”
Him: “I knew you were going to say that.”
See, we’re a house divided. He thinks that’s one of the best movies of all time. I would pay a whole lot of money not to have to watch it…ever. If you don’t know what movie that lamp is from, consider yourself lucky. I have no idea what we’re going to do with the $1 tacky lamp, but I wouldn’t want anyone to actually see it if they came over, I’d be so embarrased. I told him it adds a whole new level of class to our home, ha!
In other news, I got another of my Japanese fabrics in…
It’s Peter Pan! I love the little tinkerbell in it.
And don’t forget to come back on Feb 4th and enter “The Great International Stash-Busting Giveaway”. You’ll get a whole bunch of great fabrics, some fun extras, and maybe even a new lamp! (kidding 🙂 )
And guess what else??? Now you can find me here, too…
Oooh, I don’t know what film that lamp is from – and now I want to know! Maybe he could keep it at his side of the bed or something? So you don’t actually have to look at it! x
In response to your comment about 1 kilometre – there are 1.6km per mile. I’ll be back…
The lamp is from the movie “A Christmas Story” and the dad wins it as some sort of prize. (Much to the wifes’ horror) I Think it’s actually kinda funky!
come on you need to say which film it is from
I don’t know if you know what a find that lamp was at $1.00!! it sells for a lot more than that. check out the prices for the “Christmas Story” leg lamp here http://www.redriderleglamps.com/Store.cfm?category=13&position=1 personally I love the movie and the family watches it every year. My daughter and I love the leg lamp – I doubt I would spend the money to get one, but maybe and put it in a fun spot for the house.

Yes, yes the lamp…no way, poor you!! I remember I love the movie when I was 7 or 8 years old, but the lamp?? it’s hideous.
Hee hee I knew exactly what movie, my husband loves that movie.
I actually thought of buying him a leg lamp, just to be funny. Cant seem to bring myself to do it though (LOL)
“Out with the old, in with the new”…stash-busting, what a nice concept for a bloggy swap. Count me in, and come by and join my giveaway.
There is a house in our neighborhood with a big picture window looking out to the main street. Guess what is in that window every Christmas season? NOT a Christmas tree but a HUGE leg lamp! They (or he) must love “A Christmas Story”. I think it is a hoot!
