Think of the last 5 spontaneous things you bought. It may be a candy bar or a magazine in line at the Walmart. It might have been a really cute bag you just had to have. Maybe it was a half yard of that amazing fabric you saw that you knew would be perfect for something. Today, for me, it was a computer. I’m still hyperventilating a bit as I type this. No, I’m not typing on my new computer. It’s still as the store getting all the anti-everything programs installed, and getting it’s optimization package done, or whatever it was that the guy sold me.
I will say that we’ve been needing/wanting a new computer for some time. If you’ve been following along on this blog for a while, you’ll know that the current computer has been in the dying process for some time. However, I had no intentions of actually purchasing a computer today/this week/this month.
I had been dead set on a Mac. And to this very moment, I will still say that a Mac is a superior computer. A better computer, better customer service, better operating system, better everything. However, I can’t afford a Mac. And at the end of the day, we decided to get a cheaper, less ‘better’ computer now, rather than continue to save money for another year and get one then. So my husband convinced me to ‘just look’ at the computer store today. Compared to the Apple prices I had ingrained in the back of my head, the PC deals looked amazing. Hence, we bought one. The sales guy was really good.
So I’m saying all that to say that I might be gone for a few days. I have no idea how long it will take me to figure out the new one, plus work out all the kinks that inevitably will come up.
Next time I post, I’ll be posting from the luxury of my living room. We’re upgrading from a desktop to a laptop. Not so that I can take it on vacation. Not so that I can be trendy and go to the coffee shop with it. Not even so that I can edit my photos on location. But so that I can go from the office to the living room. I’m totally excited. Except for the nausea that’s come over me at the amount of money I spent sorta on the spur of the moment…
