I don’t have a lot of empty floor space in my apartment. So when I got to the borders on the Halloween top yesterday, I decided I would clear off a big spot of floor in my sewing room so I could lay the whole thing out and see what I wanted to add. But before I layed it out, I decided the room needed a good vacuuming. So I started picking up stuff off the floor, and realized how much junk was lying around. As I was vacuuming, I realized the shelves were in desperate need of a dusting. As I was dusting, I realized how much junk was crammed into and onto the shelves, and I started to get very overwhelmed by clutter. So I ended up moving everything out of the sewing room and into the living room. Now I have a very cluttered living room, but my sewing room looks so much better. I did manage to haul one big trash bag to the dumpster, so I felt somewhat cleansed by that. I also ended up with a big stack of stuff I don’t know what to do with. A lot of it I’ve picked up at estate sales, or here and there, but I really don’t have a place for it. So I was going to have a huge flea market giveaway here on the blog, but then realized how quickly the shipping costs would add up. So, I just found a new hiding place for some of the things in another room. Out of site, out of mind. But I do have a few things that I’ll try to put up over the next few weeks that really do need a new place to live. Starting with this hexagon quilt top. I actually won this in a giveaway several months ago from someone who was moving and needed to get rid of it. I had all the best of intentions. But as my to-do list is getting longer by the day, I know realistically I won’t get to it. So I’m offering it up to any of you that might want to do something with it. If I have more than one interested person, I’ll do a drawing. Just leave a comment if you’re interested, and if you’d like more pictures, I have some.
Giving Away a Give Away

I have started a new thing this week….and it’s actually working really well. Early every morning (between 7:30 and 8, no later) I set the timer for 1 hour…and tackle a room, closet, whatever. I have gotten the spare room and closet done, also the bathroom…even folded and put away all the fabrics I have laying around.
I have a real sense of accomplishment and still have the entire day to do…….whatever I want! Of course, it will take me F O R E V E R to get thru the whole house, but I’m doing some deep cleaning that I really want done, but don’t feel like doing.
and…………That is really a beautiful quilt…wish I had the time and inclination to finish it…good luck to all who enter…but not me! LOL
Clutter and stuff do get to be overwhelming and I wish I could help you out on this one but I don’t have the space to store nor the skills to quilt the beautiful hexagon top. If no one claims it, you might see if your local quilt guild has a philanthropy group that would take it. The one at our guild takes donations of tops, orphan blocks, etc. quilts them and passes them on to people (hospitals, nursing homes, etc) who can use them. Good luck!
I know the feeling about clutter, but I am a sucker for giving great things a loving home, I would love to adopt this quilt top from you. xx
I’d enter, if you’re doing a giveaway. It really is a lovely quilt.
I’d love to have the opportunity to practice hand-quilting on this.

Yup, I’m very interested! Thanks! and congrats on dejunking, it feels so good.
we cleared out the garage at the weekend to free up some space for me to have a little workstation in there (and spill out some of my junk from the house to the garage!). It looks great now there’s less stuff all over!
Please enter me in the draw – I love love love that quilt top!
Oh man, I’d give my left leg for that!!! Please enter me!
I guess clearing out is in the air too!! 🙂
I have cleared out mountains and mountains and i have to say – it was really hard work, but well worth it. I still have some left to do but i feel cleansed and much less frazzled by it all!
wow you have been busy – the quilt is lovely and i would love to be in the draw – thank you!!!

It looks like your quilt top will find a new home after all! While it is lovely, I am with Anita, I don’t need another project. I can’t seem to finish the ones I have on my list!
Congrats on the cleaning and purging. When you are done there, I could use a hand here… ;oP
if the giveaway is still open for entries, i would absolutely love to enter! its such a beautiful quilt top and i think it would be quite cozy when its finished! 🙂
Hope I’m not too late, I would love to give that quilt top a good home. It would make the perfect project to hand quilt this winter.
It’s a lovely quilt, please count me in, I’d like to offer a new home (my house) to it 🙂
