Archive for the ‘Giveaways’ Category

Up for grabs in this giveaway is this quilt top.  It measures about 48×62.  It’s made from an Eleanor Burns pattern, and the fabric line is Breath of Avignon.  It’s just the top though, not a complete quilt.  I do have 14 leftover jelly roll strips from this line that I will send along with it.  They might be enough to sew end to end for the binding, not sure.

To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment that you’d like to go in the hat for this, and answer one of the following questions:  What’s your favorite quilting tool/gadget that you use (Nothing boring like a rotary cutter, we all have those :)), What’s the gadget that you’ve bought that you totally wasted money on, or what’s a really neat tip that you’ve discovered that could help us all out when we’re working on a project?

I’ll leave it open for 2 weeks and announce the winner on Jan 29.

Giving Away a Give Away

I don’t have a lot of empty floor space in my apartment.  So when I got to the borders on the Halloween top yesterday, I decided I would clear off a big spot of floor in my sewing room so I could lay the whole thing out and see what I wanted to add.  But before I layed it out, I decided the room needed a good vacuuming.  So I started picking up stuff off the floor, and realized how much junk was lying around.  As I was vacuuming, I realized the shelves were in desperate need of a dusting.  As I was dusting, I realized how much junk was crammed into and onto the shelves, and I started to get very overwhelmed by clutter.  So I ended up moving everything out of the sewing room and into the living room.  Now I have a very cluttered living room, but my sewing room looks so much better.  I did manage to haul one big trash bag to the dumpster, so I felt somewhat cleansed by that.  I also ended up with a big stack of stuff I don’t know what to do with.  A lot of it I’ve picked up at estate sales, or here and there, but I really don’t have a place for it.  So I was going to have a huge flea market giveaway here on the blog, but then realized how quickly the shipping costs would add up.  So, I just found a new hiding place for some of the things in another room.  Out of site, out of mind.  But I do have a few things that I’ll try to put up over the next few weeks that really do need a new place to live.  Starting with this hexagon quilt top.  I actually won this in a giveaway several months ago from someone who was moving and needed to get rid of it.  I had all the best of intentions.  But as my to-do list is getting longer by the day, I know realistically I won’t get to it.  So I’m offering it up to any of you that might want to do something with it.  If I have more than one interested person, I’ll do a drawing.  Just leave a comment if you’re interested, and if you’d like more pictures, I have some.

Sheri Berry

Sorry for the lack of posting lately.  Things have been interesting around here, to say the least.  There hasn’t been a whole lot of crafting going on, but I did decide on what to do with the Sheri Berry Christmas fabric, and now I can finally do that giveaway.

IMG_0410The name I drew out of the hat for this one, is Jocelyn.  Jocelyn, if you’d like this fabric, please email me your address.

Thanks everyone for the ideas.  For these prints, I’ve decided on a kind of fussy cut center, alternating borders, kind of a thing.  Kind of like thisone.  I don’t know exactly what to call it, but I think it’s similar to a lot of the ideas yall were coming up with.  Hopefully I can actually get it done before Christmas. 🙂

Michael Miller Giveaway

IMG_0381

For the Michael Miller christmas fabric I got, I decided to do a zig-zag quilt.  And I might even do it in the Old Red Barn Co zig-zag quilt along.  I just don’t know if I’m daring enough to do it with HST’s, or go around it a different way.  Anyway, as promised, I’m going to giveaway some of the fabric from this line to one of those that helped me with ideas for a quilt pattern.

So, everyone who left me an idea for the Michael Miller fabric, I put your name in a hat, and the winner is….Michelle!  Michelle, if you’d like the fabric pictured above, email me your address and it’s all yours!  I’ll still be giving away some of the Sheri Berry christmas fabric, but I just haven’t got around to deciding on a pattern for that one.  I’m pretty close though.

I bought these 2 ADORABLE sets of Christmas prints a while back.  The pink/blue is Sheri Berry, and the red/green I believe is Michael Miller.  I need to decide what kind of quilts I’m going to make with these, so I can get whatever else I need before you can’t buy it anymore.  But I’m stumped on what to do.  I want 2 super cute quilt patterns to do justice to the super cute fabrics.

So here’s the deal…  Leave me a comment with a specific pattern that you think would go well with one or both of these lines, and which line you think I should use it for.  If I see some that I really love, I might just be so grateful that I give someone (or 2 someones) some of this fabric towards their own projects.  Sound fair?  It’ll by our Christmas in July.  Ready?  Set?  Go!

Set One: Michael Miller

Whew

My goodness.  When I started this swap, I had no idea what a time-sucker it would be.  But hopefully my blog will be a little more back to normal now.  I’m sending out emails to our ‘bee’-ers now, so all of you who aren’t in it, don’t have to read about it anymore. 🙂

Just wanted to remind you about the giveaway I’m doing.  It’s for my upcoming 200th post celebration.  Read about and enter your name here.  This is my 195th post, so you have however long it takes me to get to 200 to enter.

There will be 2 winners and I have 2 boxes in the process of getting filled.  So far there is some misc. things, along with a variety of different sized fabric pieces.  There’s home dec weight, quilting cotton weight, different colors and designers, and even a little touch of Liberty just for the fun of it.  And one has a Moda charm pack.

So get back to the original giveaway post and get your entries in, and I’ll tell ya who won 5 posts from now.

Giveaway Alert

So here’s the deal.  WordPress tells me this is my 182nd post.  ( I didn’t count to verify).  I’m going to have a belated giveaway from my 1 year blogging anniversary, and I’m also having a 200th post giveaway.  So there will be 2 winners.  And you have from now until how ever long it takes me to get to post 200 to enter.  Actually, you have until sometime between post 199 and 200, because the winners will be announced in that post.  Make sense?

All you have to do is leave me a comment on this post, and you’re entered.  I’ll try to link back to this post everyday so it’s easy to find.  And try to leave something interesting.  Those ‘enter me’ comments are so boring. 🙂

I’ll try to put up some pictures of the loot at some point, but I’m still in the ‘getting it together’ mode.  Of course there will be fabric, but there will also be some other stuff too.  The longer it takes me to get to 200, the longer I’ll have to get prizes.  Happy commenting.

Giveaway Heads Up

I always meant to have a giveaway for my 1 year blogging anniversary, but it kind of snuck up on me.  I’ll have one soon, though.  The OWOH and Stash-busting giveaway’s kind of depleted my giveaway stuff, so I’ll have to find something.

But in the meantime, head on over to Not Quite June Cleaver…she’s having a great giveaway.  As is Pigtailsandquilts.  Check out hers as well here.

Cinderella

Last week I won Elizabeth’s mystery giveaway over at Creative Breathing.  It was mystery not because I didn’t know what she was giving away, but because you had to be Nancy Drew and solve a puzzle.  It was a lot of fun.

100_4540

In her blog, Elizabeth tells stories of her life.  And my goodness, does she have some stories.  She’s an excellent writer, and she’s had a very interesting life, so her blog makes for a great read.

This particular puzzle involved princesses, diamond rings, and happily ever after.  She had clues throughout different stories on her blogs.

And after seeing the prize, I was bound and determined to win.  And I did!  A Cinderella pincushion.  And if you know anything about me, you’d know how perfect it was for me.

100_4546So thanks Elizabeth!  And thanks for sharing your stories with us.
